Activities
These are the regular activities of our club.
Monthly Meeting
Newport PROBUS Club meets at 10:00 AM on the first Thursday of each month from February to November inclusive. Meetings are held at the Newport Bowling Club, Palm Ave, Newport.
To allow time to sign in, please arrive by 9:45 AM.
On the first Thursday in December, a Christmas Lunch replaces the normal meeting.
The March meeting each year is our Anuual General Meeting. Committee positions are declared vacant and election of a new committee takes place.
Golf
The golfing group meets twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays and play at different courses in the area. No need for a golf link handicap. These are relaxed 9/10-hole games, no competitions and no swapping cards.
Exaggerated descriptions of each player's actual performance are encouraged over an after-golf drink.

Book Club
We have two book clubs, each limited to 10 members. Meeting venues vary so watch Newport Link for details. Books are provided by Mona Vale library but you do not need to be a library member to participate.

Knitting Group

Barefoot Bowls
Come along to the Newport Bowling Club from 2pm to 5pm on the second Tuesday of each month for a game of social bowls. The only requirement is flat smooth soled shoes or bare feet so we do not damage the greens. Cost is $10 with bowls supplied. No previous experience is needed as help will be on hand to guide you with the game. A social and fun activity.

Cinema Group
A flyer giving film times along with an Expressions of Interest Sheet will be available at our monthly meetings.
Cinema outings are held at one of local cinemas on the Wednesday morning following the monthly Probus General Meeting. On each occasion we will endeavour to choose the earliest screening available for the selected film, allowing for coffee and a chat afterwards.

Walking Group
So you'd like a regular walk?? No problem. Join out monthly walking group on the last Friday of each month.
Walks vary in length and difficulty from a couple of kms to 7 kms ++. They will give you an opportunity to walk at a leisurely pace, chat to friends, enjoy wonderful scenery and improve your fitness. So come along.

Chatfest (aka the Discussion Group)
Members who would like to chat about prominent issues of the day over a very social cup of tea or coffee may enjoy Chatfest. The only activities of this group are social and cerebral. Watch the Newport Link for details.
