The Walking Group has been one activity that COVID-19 affected but did not stop altogether. Post walk socialising had to take a break.

Our first post lockdown walk was the trek from Palm Beach to Barrenjoey lighthouse and return. Around 20 members of the Walking Group set out from Dunes Café and Restaurant to walk along the Pittwater foreshore up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse. After the obligatory photographs, the group learned some history of the site from the plaque at the gravesite of the first light-house keeper and then walked through the scrub to the most eastern point of Barrenjoey headland. Stunning views in all directions. The group arrived back at Dunes just as the heat of the day was emerging and enjoyed welcome refreshments and a long chat after so long apart.
