Christmas with Songs

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club hosted our Christmas Lunch once again. In spite of the lingering shadow of COVID-19, almost 100 Newport Probians celebrated the festive season in style.

For the first time, entertainment was arranged. The Cantabile Singers, a four person a capella group, provided some wonderful singing of traditional carols and popular Christmas songs. Duncan Whiley deserves credit for suggesting this. The Cantabile Singers, one in particular, engaged with some members to create some highly enjoyable moments.

One of our members who wishes to remain nameless donated five potted poinsettias as door prizes and the club provided another 5 prizes, gift cards redeemable at various stores. Newport Probus Club thanks our anonymous donor sincerely. Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club once again provided excellent food and a marvellous venue. Service was great and all RPAYC staff were obliging and gracious. Feedback from members attending confirmed that our Christmas 2021 celebration helped everyone start to get over the travails of our second COVID-damaged year.
