Fun in the Sun ... tinged with a little sadness

17th Sep 2020 - There was an excellent turn-out from our club to greet this spring's first 30C day by the water. Our spring picnic/barbeque at stunning Clareville Beach enabled club members to gather and socialise whilst obeying COVID-19 regulations. Participants were separated into groups of 20 or less and spatial separation between groups was observed. The small limitations required to ensure everyone kept safe did nothing to detract from the success of the event. Good food and drink allied to great company ensured everyone had a very pleasant time.

The picnic was tinged with sadness as many members learned of the passing of our foundation Vice-president Lynne Czinner. Anecdotes about Lynne and memories were shared. The weather was warm but very pleasant and, thankfully, we had no hint of smoke from back-burning operations along the Hawkesbury Valley. Many reflected on how lucky we are to be able to enjoy our area, one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
